Water is in every way life
for Venice since for one it provides one of the necessary means of transportation.
Gondolas often mark the waterways but they are mostly used by tourists
as they embrace the beauty of the city from a distance.
Venice is well known for
its canals. They are all over the city and that is no surprise given the
fact that it is built on an island and sometimes in water. Some are narrow
and others wide but the overall picture is interesting.
Once in Venice, the most
notable features and landmarks are the buildings that have embraced an
architectural design that is lost in time. The churches for instance are
well sculpted and remain the biggest attractions in the whole of Venice.
San Marco is one of them, and it is free. But for the other churches, an
entry fee may be required. |

Museums are abundant in
Venice and they are each dedicated to specific collection. Correr Museum
for instance is the home to globes that date back as far as the 16th century.
The clock tower was reinstated and a tour of the clock's mechanism is well
worth visiting but you will need a tour guide.

The Glass Museum is dedicated
to all things art and that is obvious given the glasswork that is displayed
all over Venice. The Rialto Bridge to Venice is what the Eiffel Tower is
to France; the most recognizable icon. Though having been around for hundreds
of years, the bridge is still strong and makes for one of the great tourist
attractions in the whole of the City.
In Venice, the most natural
thing to do is to take a Gondola. But even though the method of transport
concept seems outdated, it is expensive and goes for over 80 pounds sometimes.
But with this amount you are entitled to a comprehensive tour of Venice.
You will have a blast as you take you pictures since there is so much to
see. The gondola experience may be ancient, but it beats taking a cab or
a walk.
Venice offers an array of
hotels for tourists; but they are expensive. If you are on a budget, you
would be better off in some of the smaller Venice hotel that are more affordable.
If you plan on staying for a couple of weeks you may opt for renting an
apartment instead of staying at a hotel. Make sure you catch all the beauty
that is Venice. |
