Portone is the perfect base from which to explore the delights of unspoilt
Tuscany. The picturesque ports of Lerici and Portovenere, the Cinque Terre,
Fosdinovo, Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Sienna and the Carrara marble mountains
are all easily accessible.
With tennis, swimming, fishing, sailing, mountain biking, horse riding, and walking, almost all activities are catered for. Dating back to the 17th century, this delightful old Manor House is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Turlago some ten minutes drive up through the vine and olive groves from the historic Malaspina town of Fivizzano. A car is a must and a mobile phone is recommended. |

Il
Portone provides comfortable and spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests
in 4 double bedrooms. There is a large sitting room with TV and CD/radio
and wood burning stove. Also a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher
and washing machine and two bathrooms, each equipped with bath, shower,
and w/c (one has a bidet).
With medieval origins, Turlago is a haven of peace and tranquillity. There are no shops, no bar and no swimming pools. Just a timeless serenity where sounds are gentle, no one hurries and village life carries on much as it has done for generations. Il Portone offers seclusion but not isolation. Within 40 minutes you can be exploring the bustling towns of Aulla with a main line railway station, or Sarzana with its ancient market and quaint shops. |

Autostrade at Aulla opens up the whole of northern Italy with Parma, Genoa,
Bologna, Lucca, Pisa and Florence a comfortable journey away.
Within an hour you could be relaxing on a safe sandy beach at Lerici or San Terenzo, or perhaps taking a boat trip along the Golf of Poets. |

Prices
are per week - Saturday to Saturday
There is a cleaning
charge payable on arrival of €70
The optional
central heating charge for early and late rentals of (£70) per week.
What the price includes
Electricity
and gas (cooking).
Water. Though
please use water carefully as shortages can occur.
Cleaning of
the property before and after the rental period.
Bed linen for
supplied beds
Bath Towels
(2 for each guest)
A fridge freezer,
washing machine, dishwasher, TV, VHS video and CD Hi-fi.
Wood for the
stove.
Payment
A deposit of 50% of the property rental is required when your booking
is made.
The balance
is due 8 weeks before the start of your stay at Il Portone.
There is a returnable
security deposit of £150.00 payable with the balance as above.
Payment to be
made by UK cheque or bank transfer in £Sterling at prevailing exchange
rate.
Conditions
Your booking will be confirmed on receipt of the deposit and the completed booking form.
If the booking is made within 8 weeks of the rental period, the full sum, including refundable deposit, is payable.
In the event of cancellation more than eight weeks before your stay, the deposit is forfeit: if less than eight weeks, the total cost of the holiday is forfeit. If we are able to re-let the cancelled week(s) then the deposits will be refunded in full less a 10% administration charge.
The £150.00 security deposit will be refunded in full as soon as possible after your holiday, after making any necessary deductions for breakage, damage, other loss or additional cleaning and heating costs.
It is a requirement of the Italian Authorities that we have the names of everyone in your party.
Extra guests not declared at the time of booking will incur an extra charge of £150.00 per week.
On receipt of the full rental charge, including security deposit and/or heating charge for your stay at Il Portone, we will confirm by email and send you a map and directions to the property by email, fax or post.
Holiday Insurance
We strongly recommend that you get full holiday travel insurance to cover possible medical problems, loss, injury or damage to you, your belongings and cancellation insurance.
We can accept no liability whatsoever for any costs or claims for loss or damage to guest's property or for personal injury incurred at Il Portone.
Arrival and departure times
Guests should arrive after 4.00pm on the first day of the booking and leave
by 10.00am on the day of departure to allow sufficient time for cleaning.
Please give 5 working days notice of late arrival i.e., arrival after 10.00pm.
